The Cherry Lounge | Tempe, AZ
Cherry Lounge on Mill Ave as far as decor goes is one of the most interesting clubs we have been to in Tempe. The first thing that's different than in most Tempe clubs is that as soon as you walk in you immediately have to walk up stairs. Once on this level you have several different bars to choose from and can go downstairs into the "pit" if you want to dance with the general public. There are several different VIP areas that you can rent a booth in that vary in sizes and attractions. In fact one of the booths even has it's own dedicatd stripper pole. So if you are partying and drinking with those girls that like to get wild this is the place to take them. Even if you are not in a VIP booth there are stripper poles throughout the main dance floor and the girls use them. So even if you don't feel like dancing there's plenty to watch as well as GoGo Dancers dancing over head and sexy waitresses serving drinks. It also seems like this is one of the best spots to throw a Birthday or Bachelorette Party (both were going on when we were there.) Despite the decor and layout of the club we were just not feeling this one. It may have been the vibe from the crowd or the music that was being played, but we just couldn't get into it. Overall though the club was pretty nice.
Bartending: The drinks were reasonably priced but on the weak side. One weird thing about this club though is that you can not use your credit card for purchases unless it is at least $15 which can be tough if you are only buying for yourself (and not trying to double fist 'em). The bartenders kept the bar moving and there were enoguh bars that the wait was never very long, and if you don't feel like waiting at all you can grab a waitress.
Parking & Admission: You can park in the general public parking garage in the area, but be prepared to pay the fee to get out. Have cash handy though because it takes forever if you use a credit card. Unless you are in VIP try to get there early because the line gets long fast. We arrived around 11:00p and there was a line a block long. Luckily we don't do lines.
